Awesome Almond Chocolate Chunk Protein Power Balls

Looking for a yummy quick and easy treat, packed with protein and chocolaty goodness? Then you are in the right place. Today I am sharing a snack recipe I recently discovered. As a health conscious, busy parent I am always on the lookout for quick treats I can whip up in a flash. Let’s face it, it is really hard to find gluten, dairy and sugar free treats in most grocery stores. But that does not mean you have to go without!

These check all the boxes: Healthy, gluten and sugar free, vegan and paleo!

What’s even better is that this recipe is simple enough to make together with my kindergartner. Baking and cooking together helps build a little person’s confidence. And empowers them with the ability to make food for themselves. It’s also a great way to spend quality family time together. Bam, drop the mom mike.

These little morsels are chewy with a nice almond and chocolate crunch.

Hmm, chocolatey almond power nuggets. These ones are not only super delicious, but also ultra heathy and only take 15 minutes to make! My 5-year old and I made them on Friday night and they barely made it to Monday’s lunch boxes. Next time, I will double the recipe.

Awesome Almond Chocolate Chunk Protein Power Balls

Makes 35 small balls

1 cup almond flour

½ cup flaxmeal

½ cup vegan protein powder

¼ cup shredded coconut

1 ripe mashed banana

½ cup almond butter (or your favourite nut/seed butter)

2 tsps. Vanilla extract

¼ cup chopped almonds (or other nuts of your choice)

¼ cup dairy free dark chocolate chunks

  • Combine all ingredients.
  • Using wet hands, shape small balls out of the dough, pressing them tightly to ensure they are firm
  • Keep them in the fridge or freezer. Done!

See how easy that is! They don’t even need to be baked. I hope you enjoy these little treats as much as we do. They are perfect for sharing with others too.
